There are two famous Casino Lisboas. One is in Macau (Stanley Ho´s old stomping ground) and the other is in Portugal near the Tagus River, in Lisbon’s modern Parque das Nações.
This review is regarding the one in Portugal which opened in 2006.
The area was developed as a tourist center, with four hotels nearby, and the casino is set in the modern glass pavillion formerly occuped by Expo 98’s Pavilhão do Futuro (Future Pavillion)- it´s a pretty stunning setting for the steel and glass building where you can while the night away at the tables, restaurants and clubs.
Casino Lisboa Gaming Tables
The casino has more than 1000 slot machines, 22 gaming tables, 4 bars, 3 restaurants and a live veue area for 600.
The casino is owned by Estoril-Sol, a company owned by the late Chinese gambling magnate Stanley Ho´s empire. Stanley Ho´s empire also owns the Casino Lisboa in Macau and the Grand Lisboa. The other shareholder is Amorim: a Portuguese conglomerate.
The Casino Lisboa has aimed to set itself up as a nini Las Vegas entertainment complex with dance and music shows, restaurants, bars and of course gaming. They have American Roulette, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker and Baccarat, plua over 1000 slot machines. The Arena Lounge is quite a set up : the area surrounds a rotating stage with different platforms where you can order a cocktail while you watch the shows (quite often live jazz and blues). Dress code is smart casual for tables and shows. You can alos pay to watch more live show in the auditorium, but don´t expect any big name stars!

Roulette
There are plenty of roulette tables at the casino: the 1st floor has most of the table games, (6 American Roulette tables) in one zone area
plus 2 American Roulette tables in another. All the Roulette tables are 5€ minimum bet. “En Prison” or “La Partage” rule is not applied on the tables: when the outcome is zero on even money bets, you lose the bet, but the atmosphere is fun and friendly.
SUMMARY
Casino Lisboa makes a fun night out, but it wouldn´t be our top choice for roulette. For a start, all of the roulette tables have 2 zeros (American) which means your odds are lower. And, none of the tables offer La Partage or En Prison where you get money back on even money bets if the ball drops into zero. This is normally a rule that is applied to European Roulette, I know, but I have seen it on American tables. It would have been good if they had offered at least one of the those options.
You might find some single zero roulette on some of the electronic games.
