This is an old Irish legend: St Brigid persuaded St Patrick to allow women to propose to men every four years in order to balance the traditional roles of men and women just as a leap day balances the calendar.
There are 29 letters in the Turkish, Spanish, Finnish, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian alphabets.
It´s also the highest possible score in a hand of Cribbage.
